Classroom Activities—Giant Dandelions
Use these dandelions to draw attention to student work on a motivational display. Want to add some puffballs? Use white instead of yellow yarn!
Materials:
- Westcott 5" Kids scissors
- 3" cardboard square
- 6 1/2 yards of yellow yarn
- three 6" yellow yarn lengths

Step 1
Wrap the long section of yarn around the square.
Step 2
Use two pieces of yarn to tie the loops tightly at the top and bottom.
Step 3
Carefully slide the yarn off the cardboard. Pinch the two tied sections together; then tightly tie them in place with the remaining piece of yarn.
Step 4
Cut the loops and trim the cut ends to make a fluffy ball.
Adult supervision is recommended when children use scissors.
