Bear Hunt Final

What's more fun than a bear hunt? With this clever craft, your students will enjoy making up their own adventures.

Materials:

  • Westcott 5” Kids scissors
  • large bear tracer
  • construction paper sheet
  • blue tissue paper
  • green, white, and brown paper scraps
  • brown paint
  • paintbrush
  • marker
  • glue

Bear Hunt Step 1

Step 1
Trace the bear shape on the construction paper and then cut out the tracing to make a bear map.

Bear Hunt Step 2

Step 2
Create landmarks and glue them to your map. For instance, fringe-cut a strip of green paper to create grasslands, cut and crinkle a piece of blue tissue paper to make a river, and cut several green triangles to make trees. Use brown paint to create a marsh.

Bear Hunt Step 3

Step 3
Dip a fingertip in the brown paint and make a path across the map. Just after the last pawprint, draw a picture of a bear. When the paint is dry, share your map with another student to follow the bear's route!

 

 

Adult supervision is recommended when children use scissors.
