Collection: First Flight
Making this little bird won't ruffle any feathers. Display students' birds by their writing on a construction paper perch as the birds contemplate their first flight!
Materials:
- Westcott 5” Kids scissors
- 9" construction paper square
- construction paper scraps
- glue

Step 1
Fold and glue three corners of the paper square so they touch the center of the paper.
Step 2
For tail feathers, fringe-cut the unfolded corner. Then gently pull some of the fringes forward and some backward for dimension.
Step 3
Cut paper scraps to make a beak and eyes; then glue them in place.
Adult supervision is recommended when children use scissors.
