Collection: My Snowball
No matter what the weather, students will think this snowball project is very cool! Have students write about their favorite wintertime activities and then post the writing and artwork together!
Materials:
- Westcott 5” Kids scissors
- 4" x 8" white construction paper rectangle
- 4" x 8" construction paper rectangle
- 5" x 9" construction paper rectangle
- 3" white construction paper circle
- two 9" x 12" different-color construction paper sheets
- construction paper scraps
- 1" white tissue paper squares
- glue
- crayons

Step 1
Round the bottom corners of the white construction paper rectangle to make a face. Round the top corners of the other 4" x 8" rectangle (sweater). Glue the sweater and face to one of the 9" x 12" construction paper sheets.
Step 2
Trim the remaining construction paper rectangle so it resembles a hat. Glue it onto the paper. Color the face to match your skin tone. Cut construction paper scraps and use crayons to add details to the face
Step 3
Crumple the tissue paper squares and glue them to the white circle (snowball)
Step 4
With your fingers together, trace your hands on the remaining 9" x 12" construction paper sheet and cut out the tracings (mittens).
Step 5
Glue on the snowball and mittens.
Adult supervision is recommended when children use scissors.
