Collection: Skip-Counting Stream
Students will jump at this chance to practice skip-counting numbers! Alter the activity with other number intervals, such as counting by twos or by fives.
Materials:
- Westcott 5” Kids scissors
- black construction paper
- white construction paper
- yellow construction paper
- glue
- marker
- masking tape

Step 1
Cut ten stone shapes from the black construction paper. For added fun, cut out fish shapes too!
Step 2
Cut ten rectangles from the white paper and glue one to each stone cutout. Counting by tens, label the stones from 10 to 100.
Step 3
Affix two tape lines to the floor to create a stream and arrange the stones in number order. Add the fish. Jump from stone to stone, saying the numbers aloud.
Adult supervision is recommended when children use scissors.
