Collection: Whose House?

Whose House Final

Have students create houses to resemble those in other parts of the country or world during different time periods to extend what they've learned in a social studies unit.

Materials:

  • Westcott 5” Kids scissors
  • cardboard box for each house
  • 11" x 18" sheets of construction paper in several colors, including red, yellow, and brown
  • construction paper scraps
  • craft materials
  • glue
  • markers
  • crayons

Whose House Step 1

Step 1
Cut construction paper to cover a box and glue the paper in place.

Whose House Step 2

Step 2
Cut craft materials and construction paper scraps to create housing materials such as logs, bricks, and shingles. Glue them in place.

Whose House Step 3

Step 3
Add more details using crayons and markers.

Adult supervision is recommended when children use scissors.
